Due to the warm conditions of the past few days and forecasted for the upcoming week, the dike at the south end of Duck Lake has been closed to vehicle access at the end of Channel Road (at the first gate). This will help maintain the dike integrity. For those unfamiliar with the area, the CVWMA is responsible for maintaining the provincial flood protection dikes that border Duck Lake to the south, west and north. Dikes are not roads and were not designed to sustain a lot of vehicle traffic, especially during unfavourable conditions. People are still welcome to walk and/or ski/snowshoe out there!
